Some of Ryan's colleagues were in town teaching a pesticide
certification course, and they asked if we could show them a decent snorkeling
spot. Torii Station is one of our
favorites, and the dive shop on base will loan gear to visitors. After getting some fins and booties, we went
to look from so pretty corals.
The weather was OK.
It wasn’t sunny, but not completely overcast. The underwater visibility was pretty good
when the sun emerged from the clouds, but otherwise it was just an average day
in the water. Everything was new to our
friends, so we tried to make sure they saw the usual suspects: a sea snake,
giant clams, anemones, and an assortment of soft corals and fishes. We did not see an eel, although I’m not sure
we’ve ever found eels at that particular spot?
It was about two hours of fun, and then we celebrated with some garlic
fried rice.
