BOQ Farewell

Well, we found a house, and now it is time to leave the Bachelor Officers' Quarters.  It doesn't really fit Ryan's legal status anymore, and I am not allowed to stay there with him for more than 60 days.  Although it was way cozier than I imagined, it really wouldn't be a great place to spend our entire tour.  There's not enough room for the gear we have, let along the cool outdoorsy gear we hope to acquire and use!  So, it's with much fondness that we say "Fair thee well, bachelor's quarters!"

We will be in the midst of "changing lodgings" over the next several days, but we will dedicate a future blog post to our new digs.  Trust us, the new place deserves its own feature in this blog, for reasons that will soon become apparent.  In the meantime, here is a little snippet of our BOQ pad.  For those of you who thought we were living in a shoebox, let me reassure that it was NOT a horrible place to land.  I will always think of it as our first apartment together.

The views of the bay were near the Butler Officer's club, which was immediately behind our building.  We passed this view on our way to the gym.

One of our favorite things to do in the evenings is to sit outside and talk, read, be, or just sit and feel the fresh air on our faces.  On a nice evening, the best place was in the courtyard at these square picnic areas.
